In 1872 the Tring Park Estate in Hertfordshire was bought by a wealthy banker, Baron Lionel de Rothschild. His family was to have a profound effect on the town and nearby countryside. Since Tring was just one of their several local estates, it is not always easy to grasp the story. This booklet aims to explain in a concise way the family’s connection with Tring over six generations.
