An Alphabetical Index of the names of those who were examined as to their Settlement.

The documents transcribed in this volume are generated from the Poor Law as it existed before 1834 and are held by Hertfordshire Archives & Local Studies.

A great majority of the documents are from the 18th century but a few go on to the 1820s.  Although many are lost, there is much to interest those wishing to understand the lives of most people at the time.
