- Title: Business records of Messrs E K and H Fordham Ltd of Ashwell, brewers
- Description: When Fordham's Brewery began in Ashwell is not known with any exactitude. Edward Fordham, brewer, is mentioned in the county directory of 1838 and an article in Town and Country News, 27 May 1932, stated that the brewery was then 'close on a hundred years old'. It continued as a family business until its incorporation as a limited company in 1897 under the name E K and H Fordham Limited. The company was acquired by J W Green, Limited in 1952, when brewing ceased at Ashwell. The name was later changed to Flowers Breweries Limited. Beer bottling continued at the plant until 1 April 1966, since when the brewery yard has been used for storage. Flowers Brewery Limited has been a member of the Whitbread group since 1961
